Oba: The Last Samurai
Watch Trailer
In 1944, American forces arrive on the beaches of Saipan. Captain Oba Sakae, unwilling to follow his superiors in committing suicide or face capture as a prisoner of war, takes a band of his soldiers and like-minded locals into the mountains. Despite receiving news of Japan’s surrender, Oba regards these reports as mere propaganda and persists in conducting guerilla warfare against the American troops, earning the moniker “The Fox.” Eventually, even the American commander tasked with capturing Oba grows to respect his tenacious adversary.
