At 23, French-American artist Niki de Saint-Phalle is a model and budding actress, married with a two-year-old daughter. To escape the stifling atmosphere of the McCarthy era in the United States, they relocate to France, where they initially find brief happiness. However, Niki soon starts to recall haunting memories from her past. Ultimately, her passion for art becomes her refuge and redemption.
