Paleontologist Robert Trenton, portrayed by Dean Cain, is summoned to a remote area in Northeastern Antarctica, close to the Indian Ocean, to assist the FBI in constructing a high-security subterranean military facility and prison designed for the world’s most dangerous criminals and terrorists. The facility is informally named “New Alcatraz” by its staff. During the construction process, the team inadvertently awakens a prehistoric Boa Constrictor from a 200-year slumber. The snake goes unnoticed until the staff discovers a massive breach in the five-foot-thick concrete walls. As the snake begins to viciously hunt and consume the staff and inmates, panic ensues. The FBI agents, along with Trenton and the remaining prisoners, attempt to flee but are hindered by a lack of weapons. As hope dwindles and most of the survivors perish, Trenton ultimately succeeds in destroying the snake underground. He escapes to the surface with his wife, the only other survivor.
