After completing her Form 5 exams and applying for an adult ID card, eighteen-year-old Yoyo travels to London to meet a man named Cheung, whom her well-intentioned parents have introduced to her. Cheung is in his thirties, and their grandfathers were friends during the war. The grandfathers had vowed that their future children would marry each other, but both ended up having daughters. These daughters, now mothers themselves, reconnect and decide to fulfill their fathers’ old promise by arranging a meeting between Yoyo and Cheung in London. To satisfy their mothers’ wishes, Yoyo and Cheung agree to marry. However, on their wedding day, they also sign a divorce agreement that will take effect one year into their marriage.
