Jackie Turner, a top-performing college student, endured a childhood marked by abuse, neglect, and hunger. Despite her remarkable transformation, the holiday season remains a difficult time for her. Anticipating another solitary holiday on campus, Jackie posts an ad on Craigslist titled “My ONE CHRISTMAS Wish,” seeking a family to spend Christmas with and offering $8 an hour for their company. To her astonishment, she receives a flood of responses. Among the many heartfelt offers and supportive messages, she also connects with other young individuals who share the same profound loneliness during the holidays. Inspired by this, Jackie decides to organize a large Christmas gathering, enlisting the last-minute help of her adviser, friends, and support group, to match these individuals with families and ultimately finds a family for herself too.
