In this psychological drama by director Sergei Loznitsa, a truck driver’s routine journey spirals into an inescapable nightmare. Georgy (played by Viktor Nemets) is transporting cargo into Russia when a tense encounter with border police leads him to offer a ride to an enigmatic old man (Vladimir Golovin), who shares unsettling tales from his military past. Later, Georgy picks up a wary young woman (Olga Shuvalova), a prostitute familiar with the dangers of the area. As he becomes increasingly disoriented, even the guidance of some homeless men leaves him more confused about finding his way home. The film unfolds with stark images of violence and isolation, as Georgy’s journey grows increasingly grim and desperate, culminating in an unforeseen ending.
