Lance Valenteen, portrayed by David Boreanaz, earns his keep as “Mr. Fix It,” a professional who assists men recently abandoned by their girlfriends. His strategy involves dating these ex-girlfriends and intentionally being a terrible date, which drives the women back to their former partners. However, when Bill Smith, played by Pat Healy, enlists Lance’s help to win back Sophia Fiori, portrayed by Alana De La Garza, Lance finds himself unexpectedly developing feelings for her, marking the first time he becomes emotionally involved with one of his targets.
