Kit has little recollection of his homeland, Vietnam. After more than three decades, he visits the Land of the Golden Star, experiencing it much like any tourist from the West would. The setting feels foreign, and the language is unfamiliar. Kit’s purpose for this trip is to find a suitable location to spread his parents’ ashes, which evolves into a deeper exploration of his heritage and a quest to understand his identity, made intricate by external factors.
