Marta, a young homemaker, is married to Dario, a thriving book publisher. During a visit to Mantua for the Festivaletteratura, a literary festival, Marta heeds the suggestion of her cunning friend Sylvia and embarks on a romantic escapade with Leon, an attractive and enigmatic artist.
