In this dark comedy, a botched heist captures the lively spirit of immigrant lads in Brooklyn and the Bronx, who are low on employment and funds but high on drinking. James, having exhausted all his options and now without a job or a wife, joins his friend Eoin on a hired task at the racetrack for the cunning storyteller Timmy Thomas. In a bungled attempt at deception by two guys who wouldn’t recognize a winning hand if it hit them, they make a colossal mess, landing themselves in deep trouble with a group of gangsters. The plot thickens when a daring woman, charmed by the Irish accent and eager for cash, sets her eyes on James.
