This film is a biting comedy that delves into the complexities of relationships and bureaucratic hurdles. Kreso, a biologist facing an existential crisis, finds himself unemployed, approaching middle age, and trapped in a marriage that seems ill-fated from the start. His only solace is the admiration of his son. Meanwhile, the financially struggling government is on the hunt for innovative cost-cutting measures. Decades after the war of the 1990s, they target the widows of fallen soldiers, deciding that those who are unmarried but in new relationships will lose their military pensions. To implement this controversial policy, a new agency is created: The Ministry of Love, tasked with identifying widows who violate the new rule. With little to lose, Kreso is reluctantly nominated by his overbearing father-in-law to join this department. However, paired with his quirky colleague Sikic, Kreso is entirely unsuited for the role.
