Filmmaker Paul Saltzman revisits his transformative experience from five decades ago when he spent a pivotal period with the Beatles at Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s ashram along the Ganges River. In 1968, he embarked on a journey of self-discovery, embraced meditation, which profoundly altered his life, and mingled with John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Half a century later, he encounters “Bungalow Bill” in Hawaii; engages with David Lynch about his personal introspective journey; and connects with leading Beatles expert Mark Lewisohn, Oscar-nominated composer Laurence Rosenthal, and Pattie and Jenny Boyd. Much of this rediscovery is sparked by Saltzman’s daughter, Devyani, who reminded him of the forgotten, deeply personal photographs from that significant time in 1968.
