A young officer returns to his base following a bold mission. The cook’s assistant, a devout Holocaust survivor, feels envious of him. He believes that the courageous officer, who risks his life for his fellow Jews, has a guaranteed spot in heaven. However, the officer, embodying the Zionist spirit, is secular and does not hold religious beliefs. At that moment, driven by hunger, he is willing to trade his assured place in heaven for a plate of shakshuka, signing a contract with the cook. Fast forward forty years to the present day, the officer, now a retired general, lies on his deathbed in a hospital. His son, much to his father’s dismay, has embraced religion and is racing against time. He must locate the cook’s assistant who, decades ago, acquired his father’s heavenly place. The son needs to annul the contract before his father passes away, or else his father risks eternal damnation.
