TURNER STULL (played by Barlow Jacobs) is a disenchanted young man searching for direction in his life. He arrives in New Orleans, a city devastated by a hurricane, to take on a job as an insurance claims adjuster. Welcomed by his UNCLE STULLY (portrayed by Robert Longstreet), an experienced adjuster, and a driven team of colleagues, Turner is quickly drawn into the fast-paced world of claims adjusting, where the focus is on efficiency, emotional detachment, and high earnings. However, Turner finds himself overwhelmed by the emotional toll of dealing with individuals who have lost everything. His inexperience and indecision only exacerbate the situation. During a moment of crisis, Turner agrees to assist NIXON (played by Eddie Rouse), a local resident, in searching for his missing dog. In return, Nixon offers to help Turner with his insurance claims. As Turner and Nixon navigate the storm-battered city together, this journey becomes a transformative experience for Turner.
