Anna, a teenage girl, returns home from her Catholic boarding school for the holidays only to find that her father has departed. Her mother is heartbroken and spends her time with the local priest, who happens to be an old friend from her youth. Anna finds solace in her cherished grandfather and forms a bond with Pierre, a carefree teenager who is indifferent to religion.
