“London Paris New York” is a film that encapsulates the tumultuous nature of one’s twenties, a pivotal time marked by career decisions, first major relationships, and the crucial development of personal identity. The narrative centers on Lalitha, a middle-class South Indian girl from Chembur, a suburb in eastern Mumbai, who is headed to New York on a full scholarship to study politics. Meanwhile, Nikhil, a wealthy Punjabi from Bandra, a luxurious suburb in western Mumbai, is off to London to pursue Film Making, funded entirely by his father. They choose to spend an evening together in London and discover a deep attraction to each other, despite their futures unfolding on different continents. The film chronicles their individual journeys and evolving romance as they reunite for a single night in London, Paris, and New York over the span of eight years. The story is divided into three segments, each filmed to reflect the emotional states of Nikhil and Lalitha.
