In 1920s England, an unexpected bond develops between a homosexual writer and a psychiatric nurse during a series of doctor-ordered “dates.” As they engage in dialogue, he recounts the tale of his tumultuous relationship with a former companion, which took a dangerous turn when they resorted to a hazardous method in an attempt to rid themselves of their taboo emotions for each other.
