In the mid-1800s, the region of California transitioned from being a Mexican territory to becoming part of the United States. Confronted with the threat of losing his land to the new government, Don César de Echagüe, a Spanish aristocrat, turns to his son César, who is known for being a spoiled and unbearable dandy, for assistance.
