When Charlotte’s boyfriend, Ben, unexpectedly passes away in an accident, the shock causes her to faint. She regains consciousness in Ben’s ancestral home, a dilapidated manor isolated from the world, where she is surrounded by Ben’s domineering mother and his manipulative stepbrother, both intent on looking after her.
