Due to her surname “Kumada” (which translates to bear + rice paddy) and her looks, Misa is mockingly nicknamed “Pooh” by her high school peers. As a result, she is friendless and only feels at ease with her pet parrot and the goldfish in the school’s science room. However, she unexpectedly forms a close friendship with Izumi, a charming and popular classmate. Although Misa is somewhat confused by Izumi’s interest in her, she is thrilled to finally have a friend. Yet, Izumi’s initially angelic behavior slowly reveals a more sinister side.
