In this unconventional romantic comedy, we follow Ray Tuckby, a good-hearted man stuck in a stagnant existence in the unremarkable town of Trona, California. A chance encounter with a stranger inspires Ray to rekindle his aspirations. He decides to rid himself of the negative influences around him, gathers the courage to chase after his childhood sweetheart, and ultimately reclaims his town by overthrowing the local teenage drug lord.
