It’s the day before Christmas and the eve of John’s 21st birthday. John works as a sex worker on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles and dreams of spending the night and following day at the luxurious Park Plaza Hotel. To cover the cost, he has swindled a local drug dealer. However, while he sleeps that morning, someone steals his shoes, which contain the money. At the same time, Donner, a newcomer to street life, urges John to leave the city with him and head to Camelot, a theme park in Branson, Missouri, where they can work as lifeguards. Throughout the day, John scrambles to earn the hotel money, evade Jimmy the Warlock, keep his girlfriend satisfied, and navigate his relationship with Donner.
