In England during 1940, eight orphans find themselves trapped in their orphanage’s basement due to bombing raids. Their teacher, Miss Shaw, begins narrating a story to them. As she weaves the tale, the children are mysteriously whisked away to an eternal, mythical island, where they observe the unfolding saga of Darkness and Light.
