In the late 1980s, the story unfolds in Shizuoka and Tokyo, Japan. Takkun, portrayed by Shota Matsuda, is a university student in Shizuoka who is on the hunt for employment. Meanwhile, Mayu, played by Atsuko Maeda, works as a dental hygienist. The two are introduced through a blind date and start seeing each other. However, when Takkun secures a job in Tokyo, he relocates there, and they embark on a long-distance relationship. Unfortunately, the strain of distance causes their relationship to deteriorate.
