Inspired by real-life events, this sweeping narrative follows a man’s fight to stay alive. Jussi Ketola comes back to Finland after experiencing the hardships of the Great Depression in America, only to encounter increasing political turmoil. On a summer night in 1930, nationalist thugs brutally kidnap Ketola from his home. After being beaten, he is compelled to march along the Eternal Road towards an unfamiliar Soviet Russia, a place where brutality appears boundless.
