While vacationing with his family in Thailand, American police officer Jake (played by William Moseley) inadvertently disrupts a mass murderer’s ritual, which results in the opening of the actual Gates of Hell. This unleashes demons that begin to possess individuals throughout the city, leading to widespread chaos. To rescue his family and restore order, Jake teams up with an enigmatic Novice Monk. Together, they must navigate the otherworldly realm known as The Hindrance to close the Gates of Hell.
