At his mother Gitte’s request, Marko, who has resided in Berlin for several years, travels to the rural area to see his parents. He anticipates a peaceful and restful visit with his family, but those expectations are dashed when Gitte unexpectedly announces her recovery from a prolonged mental illness. Marko is the sole family member who honors her desire to be regarded as an equal part of the family, which consequently disrupts more than just the fragile equilibrium of his parents’ outwardly harmonious relationship.
