In 1941 Manchuria, Tung Fei (played by Jackson Liu Hsiu-hsien), a collaborator with the Japanese, finds himself in a dire situation after being discovered in bed with the mistress of a Japanese major. In a desperate act, he kills the major and escapes. Exhausted from his long journey on horseback, Tung eventually collapses and later regains consciousness to discover that he is being looked after by a hunter named Suen (portrayed by Dick Wei) and Suen’s daughter, Ironic (played by Hsu).
