Annie, the daughter of Heaven, is left both orphaned and disabled. She is taken to Farthinggale Manor by Tony Tatterton, where she longs for her missing family, particularly her half-brother Luke. Deprived of Luke’s comforting presence, Annie is engulfed in sorrow and dominated by the oppressive nurse Broadfield. Her discovery of a secluded cottage in the woods of Farthinggale adds layers to the enigma of her past. Despite her desire to reunite with Luke, her aspirations are overshadowed by the ominous Casteel curse.
