The film features Oguri Shun as Shimazaki Sanpo, a seasoned mountaineer and volunteer with a mountain rescue team. Sanpo is passionate about the mountains and is eager for others to share in their beauty, to the extent that he never harbors resentment towards those who cause accidents through their own carelessness. Even in the face of a fellow rescuer’s death, he remains composed, acknowledging their efforts with a simple, “You did your best.” In the spring, Shiina Kumi, played by Nagasawa Masami, joins the mountain rescue team in Nagano prefecture. Under Sanpo’s mentorship and the rigorous training led by the team’s captain, Noda (Sasaki Kuranosuke), she begins to develop her skills. However, she becomes disheartened when she struggles to apply her training in real-world scenarios. As her self-assurance diminishes, a severe mountain blizzard triggers multiple accidents, compelling the entire team to respond urgently.
