In 1914, Anne, a British nurse, narrowly avoids an assault on her African outpost. Pursued by a German-led military group, she sets off on a remarkable trek through the African highlands. With the assistance of her uncle, an Army Captain, and local fighters, Anne must navigate the delicate balance between her courage and her pacifist beliefs. Her mission is to safely return a native girl to her mother, reunite with her husband, and prevent a massacre at a nearby outpost.
