“Mr Mojo Risin’” delves into the creation of the Doors’ final album with Jim Morrison, “L.A. Woman.” Marking the 40th anniversary of both the album’s release and Morrison’s passing in 2011, this documentary explores the album’s conception, recording process, and the band’s circumstances during that period. The narrative is enriched by fresh interviews with the three surviving members of the Doors—Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger, and John Densmore—as well as insights from Jac Holzman, the founder of Elektra Records, their manager Bill Siddons, and Bruce Botnick, the album’s engineer and co-producer, among others connected to the band at the time. The program features archival footage of the Doors’ live and studio performances, iconic photographs, and new musical demonstrations by the band.
