Set against the backdrop of World War II, “Casino Tycoon” follows the journey of Benny, a recent graduate portrayed by Andy Lau. As the Japanese invade Hong Kong, Benny escapes to the gambling paradise of Macau. There, he catches the attention of a local entrepreneur with connections to the criminal underworld. Gradually, Benny ascends the hierarchy of Macau’s underworld, a path that eventually brings him into conflict.
