In the aftermath of “The Taking,” where most Defiants have either disappeared or been executed under the orders of the Sovereign Leader, the New World finally experiences genuine peace. However, as a young soldier from the New World begins to recover from amnesia, he starts to uncover the truth about his origins and the reality of the world around him. Wrongly accused of assassinating the Sovereign Leader, he faces a critical decision: remain A51-317, a loyal soldier of the New World, or embrace his identity as Paul Wooden, a Defiant. He must decide whether to continue supporting the New World with his newfound knowledge or to change his loyalties. The decision is his to make: will he choose to be Defiant?
