Boston police officer Pally finds himself pushed into early retirement, which puts pressure on his marriage. In an effort to cheer him up, Pally’s stepbrother Ray shares a tip about a racehorse that’s guaranteed to win. However, their plans to acquire the winning horse are derailed by a local mob boss who seizes the horse to settle a gambling debt. With their financial hopes at risk, Pally and Ray find themselves caught up in a dangerous world of organized crime and murder.
