In 1897, “Dead for a Dollar” follows seasoned bounty hunter Max Borlund as he ventures deep into Mexico. There, he crosses paths with Joe Cribbens, a professional gambler and outlaw whom Max had previously imprisoned, making him a sworn adversary. Max’s mission is to locate and bring back Rachel Kidd, the wife of a wealthy businessman from Santa Fe, who is believed to be held hostage. However, Max soon learns that Mrs. Kidd has actually escaped from an abusive marriage. This revelation forces Max to make a difficult decision: should he complete the deceitful task he was hired for, or step aside as merciless mercenaries and his old foe close in?
