Set in an ambiguous time period that could either be the 1960s or a distant future, a group of seven astronauts find themselves awakening aboard a spacecraft. They have no recollection of their origins or their destination. With the ship functioning autonomously, they are afforded plenty of opportunity to engage in a scientific contemplation of existence, the cosmos, and the nature of life itself.
