During the Civil War, Rachel, a widow, blames the South for her husband’s demise. When an injured soldier from the opposing side seeks shelter in her barn, she hesitantly offers him assistance. As their acquaintance deepens, she understands the need to shield him from the perilous individuals hunting him down.
