In the natural order of eagles, two chicks are raised, but the stronger one inevitably forces the weaker out of the nest. Similarly, humans often harm those they are closest to. Lukas endures the emotional distance of his father, who has become withdrawn following the death of his wife, a tragedy that occurred while she was saving young Lukas.
