Boudica, a naive sixteen-year-old, finds herself compelled into a marriage arranged by her father, the head of a Celtic tribe. Her mother, however, harbors doubts and is determined to shield her daughter from this fate. In her resolve, she takes Boudica and convinces her to escape the village, seeking refuge in her own childhood home to avoid the arranged union and a life of unhappiness.
