In 1994, amidst the brutal genocide in Rwanda where the Hutus targeted the Tutsis, we encounter Anna, an ornithologist. She successfully rescues the daughter of a colleague whose family has been killed and brings her to Poland. However, the woman later goes back to Rwanda to pay her respects at her family’s graves. The director initially collaborated on this film with her husband, Krzysztof Krauze, known for “My Nikifor” which won the Crystal Globe at KVIFF in 2005. After his passing in 2014, she completed this demanding project on her own.
