A film production team arrives in Oklahoma with the aim of persuading the legendary lawman Bill Tilghman to participate in a silent movie about a bank heist, which includes actual outlaws. Although Tilghman hesitates, he eventually consents, unaware that this decision will irrevocably alter the course of their lives.
