Feeling down about facing yet another Christmas by herself, Ali encounters Ginny, an eccentric and lively woman, at a diner on Christmas Eve. Ali confides in Ginny that she was supposed to get married on New Year’s Eve the previous year, but unexpectedly broke up with her fiancé during the holiday season. When Ali expresses her wish to do things differently if given the chance, Ginny suggests that “sometimes people do get second chances.” The next morning, Ali wakes up to discover she has been transported back to the Christmas before her intended wedding. As she attempts to avoid repeating her past mistakes, she realizes that altering the course of events is no simple feat.
