Each evening, to avoid execution, Scheherazade captivates King Shahryar with incomplete stories, ensuring she can continue them the next night, thus thwarting his vow to kill his new brides after their first night together. However, the tales she shares with the king are not the ones from the original book. Instead, they are inspired by the events unfolding in Portugal during the film’s production. Much like the original tales, these narratives will blend tragedy and comedy, featuring characters from all walks of life—rich and poor, weak and powerful—and will be filled with unexpected and remarkable occurrences. This film will portray the harsh realities faced by Portugal, a nation grappling with the repercussions of a global economic downturn.
