An affluent woman, burdened by grief, takes on the role of a “Lady Visitor” at Millbank prison. She seeks solace from her own sorrows while aiming to positively influence the lives of the incarcerated women. Among the prisoners, she finds herself particularly captivated by Selina, who claims to be a medium.
