Seth McArdle (played by Samuel Davis) is a high school senior juggling numerous responsibilities. Alongside the typical social and academic challenges of high school life, he also takes on the role of a surrogate parent to his young twin sisters, due to the absence of his late mother and unreliable father. The situation becomes more stressful when the bank threatens foreclosure, leading Seth to vent his frustrations through conflicts with the school’s football team. As a result, a frustrated coach assigns Seth to work after school with Abel, the quirky groundskeeper (portrayed by Kevin Sorbo). Initially, their relationship is tense and difficult, but as they spend more time together, they discover unexpected similarities. Unfortunately, these shared experiences are mostly filled with pain and sorrow. However, they find solace in the belief that God loves them.
