In Leigh’s comedic short film, we follow Gary (played by Lee Ingleby) as he embarks on what should be a simple mission to purchase a used car. However, this seemingly straightforward task turns into an adventure due to the involvement of various characters, including the shady East End car dealer Perry (Eddie Marsan), Perry’s taxi-driving father (Sam Kelly), a garage owner named Derek (Robert Putt), and Perry’s wife Debbie (Samantha Spiro). To add to the chaos, a pair of twins (Danielle and Nichole Bird) also make an appearance. The storyline is peppered with humor and features scenes of everyday people engaging in grassroots sports. Swimmers, joggers, cyclists, and five-a-side football players highlight the significance of casual sports to the general public, particularly in the East End of London, during this Olympic year.
