As the holiday season approaches, Taylor, an architect, is entered by her firm into a competition to create life-sized gingerbread houses. Success in this contest could lead to a promotion that would relocate her to a different city. Initially, she is paired with Isabelle, a famous French pastry chef, but they clash immediately. When Isabelle withdraws, Taylor finds herself in a local bakery where she meets Adam, a single father and baker. In a bid to salvage her chances, she persuades Adam to join forces with her, suggesting that a victory would bring valuable attention to his bakery and his creations. Taylor, who has long avoided settling down due to the fear of impermanence, begins to feel a sense of belonging as she spends time with Adam and his daughter, enjoying holiday traditions and discovering the charm of the town during Christmas.
