When the team at Heartstrings Press considers canceling Michael Rothchild’s upcoming romance novel, junior editor Dori Shephard steps up to take on the role of lead editor. However, Dori’s ideal job quickly turns into a nightmare when she discovers that Michael is not what she expected. She informs Michael that the executives view him as a rude, washed-up writer and are considering ending his contract. Determined to stay with Heartstrings Press, Michael agrees to collaborate with Dori for a month. As Dori struggles with Michael’s sluggish attitude, she is also busy planning her wedding to her fiancé, Philip. Yet, Dori’s work begins to interfere with her relationship, forcing her to understand the true meaning of love before it’s too late.
