After nearly drowning in a lake, Madison is left with a pervasive sense of fear. Unable to articulate what transpired while she was submerged, she develops an intense fear of water, known as hydrophobia. Overwhelmed by her trauma, Madison isolates herself, but her fear only grows stronger, accompanied by visions of a menacing figure that torments her both day and night. Witnessing her year-long battle with this phobia and the haunting visions, Madison’s four friends decide to stage an unconventional intervention. However, their efforts inadvertently unlock a gateway to a sinister realm where none of them are safe. As Madison and her friends delve into the ominous history of the figure that plagues them, it begins to pull them into a terrifying abyss from which there is no return.
